Welcome to KD Boer Goats

We breed and raise show quality, ABGA registered boer goats, with a focus on spotted and dappled goats! KD Boer Goats was started in 2015 on our property in Myrtle Point, Oregon. We started with the goal of bringing in some of the best colored and traditional boer bloodlines available from around the country with the goal of bridging the gap between the two. In doing so, we have managed to produce more high quality dappled/spotted genetics into Oregon and the Pacific Northwest that can be competitive in the show ring as well. We also are using all of the available modern tools, such as artificial insemination and embryo transfers, to help accomplish these goals.
Having a healthy and disease free herd is of the utmost importance to us. We are very fortunate in that one of the owners of KD Boer Goats is also a practicing veterinarian. This helps to ensure a high level of care and testing for all of the animals on our farm. KD Boer Goats maintains a CAE, CL, and Johne's free herd. We do random testing on our existing herd members, as well as quarantine and test any new goats. Animals are kept up to date on vaccinations, including CD&T and Pasturella. We also do frequent fecal egg counts for all animals to keep up on the presence of any parasites. This allows us to tailor our parasite treatment to each animal, while minimizing unnecessary treatments, or rotation of dewormers. This strategy helps to prevent parasites on our farm from building drug resistance.
